The sandwich minus the extreme heat, was cooked to perfection and I loved the homemade slaw and pickles on the fresh brioche bun. I’ve eaten spicy foods that could strip the automotive paint finish off a pair of Wilson Audio loudspeakers.Īfter drinking 4 Mountain Dews, my vision began to return and my heart rate settled back to a normal level. Having grown up in a food family that owned a restaurant chain, I spent 5 consecutive summers working in the kitchen as a chef and I’ve seen customers request some odd additions to their meal. I have a very high tolerance for spices and intense heat in my food but the “Howlin” chicken sandwich proved nearly lethal. Our Music Editor, Lauren Halliday, is a native Houstonian and she loves this store.Īfter dropping $120, I ventured outside into the sweltering heat and humidity and decided to do the most logical thing.įind the hottest chicken sandwich in Houston that I could find.įortunately, Howdy Hot Chicken is located around the corner from Cactus Music and they did not disappoint. It’s a bad sign when greed is driving prices to those levels and I can’t imagine anyone paying $900 for a Stooges or Little Richard record that are not really that rare. The prices at Cactus Music were also more reasonable than the other record stores that we visited and I’m still deeply puzzled by the $200 and $900 records that we saw at Sig’s Lagoon. I didn’t expect to find a stack of Israeli pop and folk records from the 1960s and 1970s but I bought 5 of them and they will get plenty of playing time in my collection. Rock, heavy metal, pop, classical, country, hip hop, folk, and some excellent international music are certainly plentiful. Jazz and blues fans should definitely look elsewhere. It was also bloody hot and probably a bad idea to get a hot chicken sandwich for lunch but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.Ĭactus Music is the type of record store where you can spend hours. Minus being left in the middle of a parking lot next to 2 bulldozers and a police car. The neighborhood is under heavy construction so don’t drive here expecting to find a parking spot. During my trip to Houston, I decided to visit Cactus Music which is an older record store located in the Montrose section of the city. And again, VMs stored on a different volume than the system volume work?!? Apart from the steps outlined what I did was to completely remove and reinstall Fusion according to the KB-document from VMWare, as well as verify the filesystem on my system volume. The permissions of my homefolder are set correctly. The folder exists and the preference file is there as well. Not only do I get the "internal error" message, but also a rather bizarre message that Fusion cannot create the ~/Library/Preferences/VMWare folder, to store its preferences. So the next step was to deactivate FV, since this seems to be causing this. To further investigate the cause, I created a second partition on my internal drive that is not protected by FV and placed the VMs on this volume. I suspected FV to be causing this, because the VMs from my external FW-drive still worked. At one day I (painfully) realized that all of my VMs suffer the "internal error". I also use FV on my internal drive to protect the data. In the meantime I updated macOS to 10.12.6. I received a new MacBook Pro (2017) and migrated my data from the late-2011 model under Sierra 10.12.5 to the new one. None of the suggested solutions do work in my situation and do not seem to reflect the issues I observe. I recently became haunted by the "internal error" message under Fusion 8.5.8 and Sierra 10.12.6, I read about here in several threads. Here is the stuff I’m giving away to two Sausage Fest Contest winners: 1) A Sausage Fest pint glass 2) A Sausage Fest T-shirt in your size 3) A signed Sausage Fest poster and 4) An early, signed author’s copy of TRICKED. It’s taken me a while to get to this, but I promised pictures from the release party of TRICKED, which we called Atticus n’ Oberon’s Sausage Fest. The signal pin is typically yellow or orange and should be connected to Arduino pin number 9. Here we have used ULN2003 IC to drive the servo motor. To protect your Arduino board from damage, you will need some driver IC to do that. The ground wire is typically black or brown and should be connected to one terminal of ULN2003 IC (10 -16). The power wire is typically red, and should be connected to the 5V pin on the Arduino. Servo motors have three terminals - power, ground, and signal. Myservo.write(val) // sets the servo position according to the scaled value scale it to use it with the servo (value between 0 and 180) reads the value of the potentiometer (value between ) Myservo.attach(9) // attaches the servo on pin 9 to the servo object Int val // variable to read the value from the analog pin Int potpin = 0 // analog pin used to connect the potentiometer Servo myservo // create servo object to control a servo * Controlling a servo position using a potentiometer (variable resistor) */ Open a new sketch File by clicking on New. Coding in the Arduino language will control your circuit. Open the Arduino IDE software on your computer. Components Requiredįollow the circuit diagram and make the connections as shown in the image given below. If the pulse is longer than 1.5 milliseconds, the shaft turns closer to 180 degrees. If the pulse is shorter than 1.5 milliseconds, then the motor will turn the shaft closer to 0 degrees. A 1.5 millisecond pulse, for example, will make the motor turn to the 90-degree position (often called as the neutral position). The length of the pulse will determine how far the motor turns. The servo expects to see a pulse every 20 milliseconds (.02 seconds). The angle is determined by the duration of a pulse that is applied to the control wire. The control wire is used to communicate the angle. How Do You Communicate the Angle at Which the Servo Should Turn? If it needs to turn only a small amount, the motor will run at a slower speed. So, if the shaft needs to turn a large distance, the motor will run at full speed. The power applied to the motor is proportional to the distance it needs to travel. It is mechanically not capable of turning any farther due to a mechanical stop built on to the main output gear. A normal servo is used to control an angular motion of 0 to 180 degrees. Usually, it is somewhere in the 210-degree range, however, it varies depending on the manufacturer. The output shaft of the servo is capable of traveling somewhere around 180 degrees. If the circuit finds that the angle is not correct, it will turn the motor until it is at a desired angle. If the shaft is at the correct angle, then the motor shuts off. This pot allows the control circuitry to monitor the current angle of the servo motor. In the picture above, the pot can be seen on the right side of the circuit board. The servo motor has some control circuits and a potentiometer (a variable resistor, aka pot) connected to the output shaft. One is for power (+5volts), ground, and the white wire is the control wire. You can also see the 3 wires that connect to the outside world. You can see the control circuitry, the motor, a set of gears, and the case. The guts of a servo motor is shown in the following picture. A lightly loaded servo, therefore, does not consume much energy. It also draws power proportional to the mechanical load. A standard servo such as the Futaba S-148 has 42 oz/inches of torque, which is strong for its size. The motors are small, have built-in control circuitry, and are extremely powerful for their size. They are also used in radio-controlled cars, puppets, and of course, robots. In practice, servos are used in radio-controlled airplanes to position control surfaces like the elevators and rudders. If the coded signal changes, the angular position of the shaft changes. As long as the coded signal exists on the input line, the servo will maintain the angular position of the shaft. This shaft can be positioned to specific angular positions by sending the servo a coded signal. A Servo Motor is a small device that has an output shaft. It has earned a rating of 4.83/5 stars on the Google Play store and 4.43/5 stars on the App Store. Poly Bridge 2 received "mixed or average" reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic however, the game has received "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, with a score of 96/100 and 2,852 reviews as of 22 March 2021. A mobile version of Poly Bridge 2 was released 26 October 2020 for Android, and 27 October 2020 for iOS. It released with four regular worlds and four challenge worlds, with two additional normal worlds and one challenge world added on 2 August 2020. The game was released on Epic Games Store and Steam on for Linux, macOS and Microsoft Windows. Poly Bridge 2 is developed and published by New Zealand-based video game developer Dry Cactus, with Canadian composer Adrian Talens returning to compose the original soundtrack. This workshop service is hosted on Dry Cactus's servers, making the game compatible with other launchers such as the Epic Games Store, whereas Poly Bridge's workshop was hosted on the Steam Workshop and was thus restricted to the Steam launcher. The addition of a feature similar to the Steam Workshop allows players to make and upload their own levels for other players to enjoy. The game offers six different worlds which consist of 16 levels each, along with five "challenge worlds" consisting of harder versions of the levels contained in the first five worlds, adding up to a total of 176 levels. In addition to the materials that were already featured in Poly Bridge, a new material, the spring, is introduced. The objective of Poly Bridge 2 is building a bridge that is able to take vehicles from place A to place B with materials provided within a limited budget. The biggest among them is the A38 that is 17.8 inches in diameter. Naturally, each of them has a different fender diameter.Ī25 has 12.2 inches, while A30 has 13.8 inches. The amount of air depends on the boat ball’s size as there are various sizes like A25, A30, and A38. The recommendation for its inflation is 2 psi, which is similar to 0.013Mpa. But make sure that you don’t inject too much air in it. You can even blow it yourself to inflate. There are available specialized inflating needles, and I used a hand pump. When I received these boat fender bumpers, they were deflated. So you can use a couple of this as large boat buoys. Amazingly, it doesn’t fade and deflate quickly as long as you inflate it in the right way. This material is known to be of the best quality and environmentally friendly. It’s an inflatable boat fender made of PVC or polymerizing vinyl chloride. Yes, it’s an inflatable fender with many functions like a mooring buoy, navigation buoy, water safety buoy, and even a floater. They kept my boat secured while being docked. The ropes can be tied, but I bought some straps to be sure of how it holds.īased on their appearance, they’re like boat balls, and they are a terrific alternative to the usual type of fenders. However, I bought the straps to secure the fender on the boat’s surface. I easily hang each fender on the left and rights sides of my boat with the available ropes. Other quantity options are 3, 4, and 5 pieces of these contour fenders.Īs for attaching it to your hull, there are polycarbonate grommets on both sides. Both of them have a width of 6.25 inches. The shorter part has a length of 6.5 inches. The longer padded section is 14.5-inch long. The entire length of this fender is 24 inches, while the width is 7 inches. In this aspect, it indeed works well in secluding the boat from the collision. It’s a tri-laminate material that can’t be easily ripped apart. You can trust its durability as it’s composed of sturdy marine-grade covering. The money you would spend won’t be put to waste as it’s of good quality. It’s just a low profile item that you can stow with so much ease. It provides sufficient protection for my 18-footer boat. This fender doesn’t take much space on my storage as it’s foldable and can be placed under the seat. I’m happy to let go of my traditional, round boat fenders. On the other hand, I love how these fenders can hold air inside, even with all the surrounding heat. The inflator or pump is fine, but I prefer using a compressor to provide gas effortlessly. It’s not complicated to obtain the setting that I want. Thus, inflating and deflating is done with no sweat. There are four fenders, lines, and inflating needles in the package. You may also use it on a cuddy cabin, ski boat, small sailboat, and bowrider. These exceptional fenders are suitable for boats within the size of 20 feet to 30 feet. The size is wisely designed with a width of 6.5 inches and a length of 23 inches. It is UV resistant, anti-corrosion, and it remains undisturbed with speed. Though its body is soft, it’s still resilient. The body is made of high-quality PVS, and it builds up durability. This design is inclined to its length of service, and it can prevent bumping or clashing on the dock and with other watercraft. No splitting can happen with this one-piece fender. The package has everything you need, so buyers like me are satisfied. Why are these the right boat bumpers for me? They’re great in protecting the hull of my 30-feet sailboat, and using them is a piece of cake. Ripping and tearing can’t break it apart as the eyelet is molded on both sides of 6.5-inch wide and 22-inch long fenders. I appreciate how the designers consider this detail as it’s convenient for the users. These fenders give me an easy time connecting them to my boat, thanks to its eyelet. So that’s why I’m happy about these inflatable boat bumpers. With this tiny tool, I can make the set up that works best for me. However, I need to buy the pump separately. I think I don’t need the limited two-year warranty that is offered by the manufacturer.Ī needle value is available for the adjustment of the internal pressure. Waves and winds can’t take these fenders down in an instant. With these qualities, it promises durability as it can take any beating. Damages and discoloration from saltwater, sunlight, and boat cleaners don’t easily affect these fenders. Each fender is built to adapt to any climate. The material and quality are both outstanding. These boating fenders are not only attractive because of color varieties. They are in several colors like red, bright red, black, blue, cobalt blue, orange, white, forest green, teal, cranberry, sand, neon yellow, neon green. One order gives me four pieces of fenders and four fender lines. I’m glad that I found this product when I was looking for new fenders.
